License (Community & Enterprise)
Docuvate is source-available (fair-code), not OSI “open source”. The Community Edition uses the Sustainable Use License 1.0 (SUL): free for private and internal business self-hosting on infrastructure you control.
Docuvate Enterprise and Docuvate Cloud are separate commercial products (private repository) built on this Community Edition. This repository is the complete CE core for self-hosters.
SDKs (@docuvate/sdk, Flutter package docuvate) are MIT-licensed.

License FAQ
Can my company self-host Docuvate?
Yes, for internal business use on servers your organization owns or rents and operates. That is what the Community Edition is for.
Can an IT service provider install it for me?
Yes, when the software runs on your servers and the provider charges for setup, maintenance, or support, not for offering Docuvate as multi-tenant SaaS to others.
What is not allowed?
Offering Docuvate as a hosted or managed service to third parties, white-labeling, embedding it in a product you sell, or running it as an invisible backend inside someone else’s SaaS.
What about forks and the Docuvate name?
Forks and redistributions must use a distinct product name and branding and must not imply they are the official project or endorsed by us. See the name and branding policy in the repository (TRADEMARKS.md). Community Edition source may be viewed and modified for permitted use.
